Fractal Leaf 3b

Sticky Elemental Snow

For my talk at FOTB 2007, I wanted to walk the audience through developing an algorithm. Since fractals are so wonderful, I picked a very simple example and started exploring it: the development of a fractal leaf or tree.

In this version, I thought it would be fun to see what happens when using the end-points of each branch as vertices in a shape. This is a happy accident, that dindn't meet my goal, but was still cool visually.

Click on stage to generate each iteration. At the last iteration, the color pattern is drawn over the skeleton.
